Four Days and Counting...

Four more days, counting down to the deadline of mid-term project game has begun.. The progress? We have succeeded to make the main menu interface correctly, and we also have collected all the necessary images needed for our game. The one and only problem is to make the gameplay. We are still trying to understand the logic for the position and action that will be implemented in the game. Tomorrow morning I will ask one of my classmates who is very good at this to teach me ^^ Hopefully we'll be able to make big improvement tomorrow, 'coz we still have to think about the individual game which will be our final project. I already have the ideas on the story and material for my final project, but I haven't got the chance to make or find the images for it. I just can hope that after we have finished this mid-term project, there'll be a light in my mind to guide me :p Today we have a new class called MJENI. Surprisingly, I could follow it and understand it from the very b

Tik Tok

Tick.. tock.. tick.. tock.. the clock keeps ticking. It's amazing how time flies. It's been a week already. The transition is hard enough, you know, from doing nothing during the long holiday into doing almost everything starting from last week. Been making quite a progress, though (for the game project). Yesterday, my partner and I succeeded to make the buttons on the main menu screen appeared ^^ which is not easy, 'coz we've tried all day long the day before without any positive outcome. But thanx to my very smart and helpful classmate, Mas Akbar, we made it! :) Not only we managed to show the buttons, we also had a beautiful instrument for the game ^^ Now, whenever you press 'load', there'll be an eye-catching main menu which is designed by my wonderful partner. Plus, there'll also be a nice music playing ^^ Well, I know there are still lots of things and codes that we have to crack (a.k.a make), but we'll do it step by step, or maybe crawl :p T

Never Ending MGatot in Endless Rain

It's raining very hard now. In fact, it has been raining for 3 straight hours and I'm stuck here at a cafe near the campus. I'm with my colleague now and we're talking about many things, including my game project, while waiting for the rain to stop. Talking about games, we have received the feedback from the lecturer this morning. We could understand the feedback well, but the program still couldn't run. We have re-checked the source code over and over again. We have matched the names of the files, and even the capital letter, but still no positive outcome T.T I wonder how those programmers can handle this kind of problem. Repeating the same step over and over again. Wish I could rent a programmer's brain for 2 nights or so, just to finish this project successfully :p Anyway, during my confusion about the game for the mid-term test, I've just got an idea for my final project game. The idea comes from my conversation with this colleague of mine. It's stil

Finally... Hope!!

Hi all!! Just finished discussing the game with my partner ^^ Honestly, I'm quite happy, because I am sure that we've made a big progress in understanding the code :p Feels like Robert Langdon when he first understood the first piece of the mystery in The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown :) Well, for the last three days (opposite of the Russel Crowe's movie The Next Three Days :p), my partner and I had been working on our project. We didn't make very significant improvement, but still we felt happy and quite satisfied because now we could start to see the 'big picture' of our project :) As a result, I was very tired at night and I couldn't share my feelings to you on those days because whenever I crashed my bed, I automatically fell asleep :p Anyway, now it's official that our game's title will be THE PUPPET SHOW. The name PUPPET stands for PURI and PATRICE, the designer of the game for sure :) The game is quite simple but interesting (hopefully). So, thi

No More Fun Weekends

Judging from the title, I'm pretty sure you know what I'd like to share :p Let me start from yesterday. Yesterday was our last day for the face to face meeting of Engine for Online Game subject. We were assigned to make 2 game projects for our mid-term and final project. The mid-term test will be group project, and the final test will be individual project. The deadline for both projects is the same: March 4th. Frankly speaking, I was very pessimistic whether I could pass this subject or not. I planned to catch up with the others (since I often just went blank in the class, just like my laptop when it's hang) every night. I read over the modules, looked at the scripts of some game demos, but I came out with nothing. It's like forcing a baby to give a speech. I really feel like a sand of time icon in our computer when it's processing: just turning upside down over and over again. My partner and I have made the concept for our project, but there are TONS of things tha

What A Day!!

Let's just simply say that today is not my best day. We started to implement the theory we had learned into practice. Believe me, it wasn't easy at all. Frankly, it was very difficult for me. The lecturer implied that as long as we had our logic running, that wouldn't be a problem. Well, the problem is, MY logic is not so good :p Every time I follow an IQ test or any other similar tests, I always score low in the logic part. That's why I couldn't follow the lesson like my other classmates. Besides that, many things distracted me today, ranging from my personal problems with some people, financial problem (coz I haven't paid the book fee) and the Internet connection problem. All those separate problems merged into one big cloud that covered my head (and brain). I could barely concentrate to find what's wrong with the script we were told to improve. My partner hadn't arrived yet and my other classmates seemed busy with their own projects. As a student, you

New Semester, New Challenge!

Today is the first day of my second semester. We (the SEAMOLEC students) have an early start, because the other students will have their first day next Monday. Actually, I feel a little bit jealous since I still have lots of movies to watch in my DVD collection :p Anyway, when I was on my way to the campus this morning, I couldn't wait to see my classmates because it's been a while since I last saw them. When I arrived, I peeked into each class to see whether my classmates were already there. Negative. So I went to ask where we would have our first class. I was so surprised to see that the only person there was the lecturer who appeared to be so young. When he introduced himself, I found out that my guess was correct. He's 1 year younger than me! (if you want to know his age, figure it out yourself coz I won't mention my age here :p) The name of the subject was scary: Engine for Online Game. I like being online. I like playing games. But I really don't like dealing
